Earlier this year, Areaware released the Puzzle in Puzzle, a family of high concept jigsaws based on a series of photographic collages by KangHee Kim.  On the occasion of NY Design Week, we have teamed up with Rachel Comey to present an expanded presentation of Kim's work. Dazzled is a new series of fabric-printed photographs, collages and sculptures on display from May 17 to 23 at the Rachel Comey store in Soho.

The installation centers on a common household form—the drying rack—and points to the curious relationship shared by darkroom photography and handmade clothing: the need to hang-dry. Using photographs shot on sight at Rachel Comey and images from her series, Street Errands, Kim has created a playful installation mirroring the interior architecture of Comey’s boutique.

Kim is a Brooklyn-based photographer who uses collage and altered photography to create subtly surreal scenes from everyday environments. Her book Magic was published by Same Paper Press in 2016.

This event is part of Sight Unseen Presents. Participating venues include: Coming Soon, Rachel Comey, The Primary Essentials, Paintbox, Picture Room, Canal Street Market, Dimes, Lalito, Mission Chinese, Creatures of Comfort, and Anthom.
